"Rythu Bazaars" - Scheme launched on 14th November, 1999 by G.O.Ms.No 37, Government of Andhra Pradesh (Agriculture and Marketing Department). It is the great innovation by Nara Chandrababu Naidu.

What is a Rythu Bazaar and why?

There was no term "Rythu Bazaar" until in 1999 Nara Chandrababu came up with an idea where urban people would purchase vegetables and farm fresh products directly from farmers eliminating long chain of middleman in the Marketing areas.

Direct Markets from village farmers for farm fresh produce in urban areas.

Andhra Pradesh is the second largest producer of fruits and fourth largest producer of vegetables in the country. In long chain Marketing,  farmers were not benefitted. Vegetables and fruits were being passed through hands of middleman and farmers only get 40 paise or less on each one rupee share. So the state government of Andhra Pradesh decided on working towards the creation of a market where both farmers and consumers get benefitted. Thus, Rythu Bazaara were established.

The government of Andhra Pradesh ( combined state Telangana and present Andhra Pradesh) started Rythu Bazaars in 1999 by the ideology of Sri Nara Chandrababu Naidu. The primary objective of Rythu Bazaar is helping farmers to bring and sell their produce without the involvement of of intermediators or middleman.

How many Rythu Bazaars are there in Andhra Pradesh?

Rythu Bazars are located on government land identified by the District Collectors. The land has to be an acre in size and should be located at an area that is convenient for both farmers and consumers. Being located on government land provides the security to the Market protects farmers from harassment of any kind.

Thank you Sri Nara Chandrababu Naidu garu
