Birla Temple is a modern time built Temple which shows that the old Aryan religions convinced and adjusted to modernism. It was built by Raja Bal dev Das Birla and from 1933 to 1939 at a cost of several lakhs of rupees. Actually this was sanctioned by the British India by the efforts of Mahatma Gandhi. The opening ceremony was performed by the famous Pandit Vishwanath Acharya who provided assistance and guidance during Birla Temple construction and by Mahatma Gandhi on condition that people of all castes be allowed to enter the temple.
This temple contains separate places for Lakshmi & Narayana in the Middle, God Shiva at the right and Goddess Durga at the left. You can find Shri Bhagwan Krishna and attractive paintings from Mahabharta story adjacent to Goddess Durga. You could also see Buddha Temple, a guest house, a library, a reading room etc. On the walls there are numerous wonderful fresco paintings of all excellent teachings of Hinduism. These fresco paintings are done by the artists of Jaipur. Stone sculpture panels are made by stone masons from Jaipur.
Here, all Hindus i.e the followers of different branches of Hindu(Arya) Dharma, including Sanatanists, Jains, Sikhs, Buddhists may visit the temple and offer daily worship. The temple is open to all Hindus including Harijans (in those days treated as untouchables or Dalits). The foreign tourists who are interested in Arya Dharma can also visit the temple.
The back side adjoining Ridge has been converted into an artificial and miniature mountain scenery that contains caves, scenes of waterfalls, small cloth shelters, yogashala etc

This temple is dedicated to Laxmi Devi and Narayana and so called Laxmi Narayana Temple.
